The mountain was discovered by Colonel TG in 1856. Montgomery of the Indian Survey, and it was given the K2 symbol because it was the second-highest peak in the Karakoram range. It is 8,611 meters (28,251 feet) above sea level. K2 is the highest point of the Karakoram Mountains. It is so deadly because of the combination of elements.
